Moto E 2015 receives Marshmallow update in India

Motorola has commenced rollout of the Marshmallow update to the Moto E 2015 in India. Weighing in at 453.9MB, the update includes Now on Tap, Doze, and app permissions, as well as Google's February security patch. If you're rocking the Moto E 2015 in India, head into your device's settings to manually install the update.

Motorola announced its list of devices scheduled to make the switch to Marshmallow in October, omitting the Moto E 2015. In December, the manufacturer amended the list to include the entry-level handset, with the caveat that only select regions — Europe, Latin America, Canada, and Asia (except China) — would receive the update to Android 6.0. With the U.S. not included in the list, the Moto E 2015 is effectively dead on arrival in the country.
