The Mobile World Conference is just around the corner, and buzz about Samsung’s soon-to-be-revealed flagship devices could hardly be greater. Although we had heard some rumors previously that both the Galaxy S7 and the Edge variant would have a powerful 12MP camera with a few tricks up its sleeve, it now looks like this spec is confirmed.
SamMobile is reporting that a Zauba import database has revealed that rumors about the flagship’s camera were true. What’s more, the module is somewhat bigger than anyone anticipated. The sensor has a pixel size of around 1.4 microns, a step up from the usual 1.12 micron pixel size. This, combined with the fact that the sensor is a massive 1/2.5-inch component, means that the camera will be able to collect a lot more light which, if the software is solid, will correlate to higher-quality images.

It looks like both the Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 Edge will be rocking some pretty killer speakers. The earpiece has a strength of 1.2W, which is pretty potent, but the loudspeaker has a head-turning output of 1.5W. On top of that, it’s believed that software will allow the two speakers to sync up, creating a richer, higher-volume sound quality.
You know what? We’ve even got some more S7 leaks. A Samsung Pay promo poster got leaked on the internet, which means we can now formally confirm that the Galaxy S7 has a 5.1-inch Quad HD, pressure sensitive, always-on display maintained by a 3,000mAh battery. The Edge version is notably larger with a 5.5-inch Quad HD display which is also always-on and pressure sensitive, but a slightly stouter 3,600mAh battery keeps this cat purring. Both run a Snapdragon 820 SoC, house 4GB of RAM and, yes, offer IP67 water protection as we anticipated.
Stay tuned for more Galaxy S7 details as we race toward the Unpacked event this Sunday. In the meantime, let us know your thoughts about what we know about the S7 so far. Is this Samsung’s redemption, or were you expecting more from the mobile giant? Tell us your opinion in the comments below!
