Last month, rumors suggested that the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge would offer water resistance. It looks like that may well be the case, according to listings on India's import/export tracking site Zauba. The site has listed numerous waterproof components making their way to the country, such as a waterproof mic and SIM tray, along with conductive gasket tape for the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge.
Given the quantities listed on Zauba, it is likely these components will make their way into Indian retail units of the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge, as Samsung locally assembles all handsets sold in the country. As for the devices themselves, it looks like this year's offerings will feature a curvier glass back, with the sensor sitting flush with the body. The chunkier back is interesting as that could lead to a larger battery.
As for water resistance, it may turn out to be the feature that gives Samsung's upcoming phones an edge over its rivals this year.
