Ahead of the start of Mobile World Congress 2016 next week, ARCHOS has unveiled a pair of new smartphones in its Diamond lineup with the Diamond 2 Plus and Diamond 2 Note. Both smartphones come running Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box and include support for fast charging, but differ quite a bit in their specs.
As the larger of the two, the Diamond 2 Note (seen above) packs a 6-inch IPS display at a resolution of 2560 x 1440. Powering the device is the 2GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6795 Helio X10 processor, 3GB of RAM and a 3610mAh battery. The smartphone also packs a 16MP rear camera that supports 4K recording at 30fps, along with an 8MP front-facing camera.
The Diamond 2 Plus, on the other hand, packs a smaller 5.5-inch 1080p IPS display, but it's no slouch. Inside of the Diamond 2 Plus, you'll find 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, along with an octa-core MediaTek MT6755 processor. As far as cameras are concerned, the smartphone features a 20.7MP Sony sensor on the rear and an 8MP front-facing camera with flash. Lastly, the Diamond 2 Plus also includes a USB Type-C port and a fingerprint sensor.
ARCHOS is planning to show off both phones on the show floor at MWC in Barcelona starting February 22. As for when you can get your hands on one, ARCHOS says that both phones will be available starting in May at $229 for the Diamond 2 Plus and $269 for the Diamond 2 Note.
