New Google Photos app with unlimited storage goes live in Google Play and on the web

Google's brand new Photos app is now available to download in Google Play and on the web, letting you back up all of your photos with at no cost.

Earlier today Google introduced their revamped photos service, which offers users unlimited storage at no cost. Of course there are some limits, like max of 1080P video and 16MP still images.








Google Play Services 7.5 gives Android app developers access to Smart Lock for Passwords

Google Play Services 7.5 is now available for Android app developers, adding features such as Smart Lock for Passwords.

As part of the Google I/O developer conference in San Francisco today, the company launched the SDK for Google Play Services 7.5. It includes new features that Android developers can use in their apps, including Smart Lock for Passwords, which should help with using passwords on multiple devices and platforms.

Google didn't even mention its long-in-development "Project Tango" efforts today during the Google I/O keynote. However, the company is now allowing anyone to purchase its development tablet for the 3D-sensing hardware from the Google Store without an invite for the first time.








Dashlane password manager works with new Android M fingerprint security

Dashlane, a popular password manager, has announced support for Android M's new fingerprint security.

Right on time after the announcement of new security APIs in the latest version of Android, the password manager will be one of the first to integrate with the new security platform. Using both the "Fingerprint" and "Confirm credentials" APIs, you will be able to access the Dashlane app, as well as display secure information within other apps, with just your fingerprint.








You can now download Android M Developer Preview system images

The Android M Developer Preview has been announced, and now it's time to try it out on a device.

After a little wait while the download links populated, you can now get to the Google Developers site and download an Android M factory image to flash onto a Nexus 5, Nexus 6, Nexus 9 and even a Nexus Player.
